Barcelona ready to meet Griezmann buyout clause

Mundo Depertivo reported on Sunday that Barcelona President Josep Maria Bartomeu has met with the family of Atletico forward, Antoine Griezmann ahead of summer move.

The star who has been linked with move to Manchester United in the last transfer window is the highest scorer for Atletico for the past three season.

Barcelona ia ready to meet his £100 million buyout clause  to replace Neymar who waa sold to PSG for £222 million.

“Barca settle on Griezmann as an objective for 2018 and they spoke with his entourage to see if he was willing to wear the blue and red shirt.”

“After receiving yes in response, an agreement was reached with the French goal scorer involving Pep Segura, Barca’s general manager and Robert Fernandez, the director of football.

“President Josep Maria Bartomeu has now entered to finalize the deal”, the newspaper also report that ” Bartomeu also met with Griezmann family to eat in Barcelona”

Griezmann was unable to leave Atletico after the club appeal for being banned not to sign player till January was rejected.

The forward also said it is dirty to leave the club when he cannot be replaced till January.

However, Atletico coach Diego Simeone accepted that Griezmann departure is unstopable because other Atletico outstanding player like Torres, Diego Costa ang Sergio Aguero left for greener pasture.

Simeone said to French sport daily that ” of course Griezmann will be able to leave at some point, as Diego Costa, Diego Riban and Ardan Tran has gone”

“If a player come to me and says, Coach I have a chance of lifetime and want to leave, and if he have everything on the pitch foe me like Griezmann, I’ll say no problem.

Atletico are likely to come under financial urge to sell after moving to a £310 million stadium in september and there failure to reach round of 16 in champions league for th first time in the last five years.

The club is also kin on bringinh back Costa from Chelsea for £100 million and signing Spanish Vitolo from Sevilla
