Deji Adeyanju sued President Buhari over the appointment of NIA DG

Deji Adeyanju sued President Buhari for favouritism in the appointment of NIA DG, Ahmed Rafiu Abubakar.

Adeyanju sued both President Buhari and the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami.

Deji Adeyanju is an activist and the convener of the concernedNigeria group.

 

He filed a suit at the Federal High Court, Abuja.

 

He persuade the court to reverse the appointment of Ahmed Rafiu as the Director General, Nigeria Intelligence Agency.

It was reported by Premium Times that the court in a writ to summon,

asked the defendants to appear before the court within 30days.

Adeyanju asked the court to confirm if it is constitutional according to section 14(3) of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,

If it is possible for the first defendant to appoint the second defendant as the DG of NIA

When he his from the same state (Katsina) as the DG of the State Sacurity Service, Lawal Musa Daura.

He also asked if the second defendant is the appropriate person to be appointed according to section 2(3) of the National Security Acts.

President Buhari was previously accused of appointing people that are not capable into government by Senator USA Misau.
