Referee face murder charges
A referee who was forced by opposition player to kill a player at Southern Malawi is facing the court for murder case.
The referee who was oversee a football match between two local teams, Billiat FC and Chicago FC in Thyolo on Wednesday, fled to a house when Chicago FC players refuse to accept the referee decision to invadilate a goal, says police spokesmen, Benjamin Foster told DPA.
The players then smoke the referee out of the house, when he ran out of the burning house he was forced to smack a Billiat FC player repeatedly with a stick.
The Billiat FC player later died of injuries in hospital.
The referee then turn himself in and currently facing murder charges.
